Sunset over Sydney

We got a nice red sky sunset on Saturday here in Sydney so I got out the 3 stop filter and captured this.

5 exposures ranging between 1.3s and 8s @f/8 ISO 50,  blended in RP5 using PM Auto Dark, added warm highlights, cold shadows and a mid-tones DB layer to lift some of the reflections in the buildings.  I used a 10% S-Curve, and adjusted contrast zones to get the right mix of tones, then added Details for highlights and shadows and finally a Something Different layer at 15% opacity to lift the magenta in the sky that got a little lost in the contrast adjustments.  I masked out the buildings and the ferry that was passing from this layer to retain the colour that I wanted.

Only triky bit in the blending was to take the blurred ferry from 3 of the exposures (all different shutter speeds and therefore light/dark ranges).  This was achieved by carefully brushing in the masks for the 3 layers.
