TBH, I don't do anything particular, but the key is really making sure you've got exposures that are no more than 1 stop between them makes it easier for RP to blend using PM, which is the technique I use.

 

If fringing occurs I use various techniques to remove them, including the CA Clean function of RP and Layer > Matting > Defringe in PS, depending on what's caused it.  If the area affected is small enough I sometime even get down to pixel by pixel colour edits, which can be very tedious.
